Who am I?

I am a very average american citizen with a husband and three teenage kids who instigated a big change in our lives this summer of 2009. We moved from the hectic pace and tightly packed houses of the city to a small town up in the mountains overlooking a gorgeous valley. Even better the house we are living in now is 100 years old surrounded by 100 year old pines. To some that would be a a big turn off right there but I wanted something with a history, something you could walk into and maybe for just one moment step back in time to imagine what things were like. I suppose that's just the story writer in me. Amazingly enough living out in the country hasn't been that drastic a change for us and if anything it's brought us a little closer. Sure there's a little more work to be done such as making sure you have enough emergency firewood split for the winter and taking care of the over one acre that we have now but its good work and we don't mind it. (speak for yourself mom). I have also managed to get a job (possibly two) in the valley, almost a miracle in itself.

Just for future reference when I say valley it means the cumulation of towns that sit in a valley surrounded by mountains. There are only four roads leading up here two of which are passable in the winter.
