Catching up

Boy it's been a while since I posted anything. We didn't drop off the face of the earth here, honest!

Tony and I celebrated our 19th anniversary on the 28th of September.

I did manage to get all my peaches canned and I was supposed to can pumpkin yesterday but we ended up with a problem that started on Friday. I found a leak downstairs and had to track it. Turns out it was the pipe that supplies the water to the upstairs kids bathroom. So we removed the toilet.

FYI - this is not how you remove a toilet. I happened to discover that the previous owner or renter had already broken part of the toilet and since we have a brand spanking new one sitting downstairs I allowed Andrew to have some fun. He couldn't find the big sledgehammer but a steel wood splitting wedge works just fine. We also discovered why the toilet never flushed so well - the drain was put in wrong. So now a simple case of a leak has turned into removing a wall in the bathroom, moving the toilet over, putting in a smaller sink (brand new one downstairs) and cleaning up the mess. It's going to be a lot of fun. Been there done that.

In other news I FINALLY managed to get the back pasture seeded for horses and fertilized too. The grass seed was around 55 dollars and the spreader about 80 so I was waiting until we had some money to do it.

That's it for now, Tony comes home soon and we get to work on the water leak together. We have been without water, except in the kitchen sink, for two days but I always say it could be worse. We can deal with this.
